Family Forest® Products
Vermont Family Forests has developed a registered trademark, the Family Forest® brand, to help forest stewards market their VFF-vertified forest products. The Family Forest® trademark identifies products that contain wood from well-managed forests vertified in accordance with the Principles and Forest Health Conservation Practices of Vermont Family Forests.
We have tested the process of collaboratively producing Family Forest® brand hardwood flooring—locally grown, locally processed, and locally sold. We created different flooring lines that reflected the forests from which the flooring came: the Northern Hardwood Forest Floor™, a mix of fine-grained woods from the dominant members of the Northern Hardwood Forest community — sugar maple, American beech, and yellow birch; and the Clayplain Forest Floor™, a mix of more distinctively grained woods from trees common to the Clayplain Forest community — ash, hickory, and oak.
Family forest stewards interested in learning more about utilizing the Family Forest® brand should contact Vermont Family Forests.
